Over the weekend of February 2nd, the new movie Argylle claimed our top spot even after receiving mixed reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film sits at a 32% critic score, however, its audience score is more than double that, at 71%!
Duking it out for our #2 spot was The Beekeeper and Wonka, Statham's action film ultimately bested Chalamet's musical by a small margin.
There was a Fathom Event that weekend where theaters showed episodes 1-3 of the television series, The Chosen. The Chosen ranked #2 in dollars earned ($5.94M) but #7 in tickets sold. This is due to the difference in ticket price and runtimes between the three-episode showings and other movies.
Wonka, even in its eighth weekend, continues to be in our top three, proving the staying power of family-friendly movies once again.
