The weekend of July 21st was an incredible weekend for cinema as droves of people ventured to their local theaters to watch the cultural phenomenon coined Barbenheimer. This surge in moviegoer attendance has rippled across the country as people are declaring cinema is back, baby!

The now-iconic movie, Barbie, skated to the top of our ranker in the pink of an eye. The rich colors of Barbieland, the brilliant directing, the impeccable performance by the cast, the satirical-yet-poignant script, and the salient themes of gender roles and the toxicity of the patriarchy catapulted this film to the top of… everything!

Oppenheimer, despite receiving only half of the admissions of Barbie, had a very strong showing as well. These two films releasing on the same day was a wise move by studios.

Sound of Freedom, Mission Impossible, and Insidious: The Red Door took home our bottom three spots, staring fondly up at Barbenheimer.
