Over the weekend of May 5th, The Fall Guy did not fall down our ranker, instead it rose up to the top, claiming 33% of all ticket sales and earning over $27.7M.

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt impressed critics and audiences alike in The Fall Guy, earning an 82% critic score and an 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Well-liked movies have been a consistent pattern for many of the top titles released in the past few months: Challengers, Abigail, Dune: Part Two, Kung Fu Panda 4, and Civil War all scored over 70% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Impressively, the re-release of Star Wars: Episode 1 claimed the second most ticket sales (14%) and earned over $8.7M over Star Wars Day weekend (May the 4th be with you...). The power of the Star Wars franchise, even 26 years after The Phantom Menace's release, remains quite strong.

Looking ahead:
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is coming this weekend, how many tickets will the apes claim?
