Crowds Show Up for The Hunger Games and Godzilla While Beyoncé Earns the Most Dollars | Weekend of December 1st, 2023

The Hunger Games Sold More Tickets by Volume, but Queen B Pulled in the Most Dollars!

The weekend of December 1st was certainly an eclectic weekend as Hunger Games, Godzilla, Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce, and two kids movies sat atop our ranker.

Even though Beyonce's film claimed the most dollars ($21M), The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes claimed the most ticket sales by volume. This is explained purely by ticket price differentials between the two titles.

Godzilla Minus One ferociously nestled itself in between two big films at our number 2 spot. Fun fact: There have been 38 Godzilla movies made over the last 70 years. If anyone ever doubts the power of franchises, simply point to Godzilla and they will rescind their argument.
