IF Flies to the Top of the Box Office | Weekend of May 17th, 2024

Over the weekend of May 17th, IF was not imagining its success as it topped our ranker, claiming 38% of all ticket sales and earning over $33.7M. Audiences loved the film as it scored a very high 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Due to its family-friendly nature, IF will likely stick around in the top 10 for weeks to come.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes continued its success, claiming 23% of all ticket sales and earning over $25.4M in its second weekend.

The Strangers: Chapter 1, a new horror film, had an impressive opening as it claimed 12% of tickets and earned over $11.8M.

A notable title this weekend was The Blue Angels, a movie that was only released in 227 theaters (compared to Godzilla's 1,700) and it still earned a very impressive $1.4M.
