Inside Out 2 Stays Ahead | Weekend of June 21st, 2024
The weekend of June 21st was yet another great weekend for cinema. Inside Out 2 continued to drive families to theaters in its second weekend, claiming 67% of all tickets and earning over $100M. As if further proof of the power of family-friendly movies was needed, when you combine admissions for the top three animated movies last weekend (Inside Out 2, The Garfield Movie, and IF), these films claim 71% of admissions and 70% of all dollars.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die continued to draw crowds as well, claiming 11% of all tickets and earning nearly $20M.
Premieres over the weekend included The Bikeriders, which found its way into our top three, claiming 7% of all tickets and earning nearly $10M.
A weekend of over $150M for the box office is impressive, especially with there being no huge premiere! Four out of the last five weekends have done over $100M, and we expect this streak to continue for the next few weeks.
Looking ahead:
A Quiet Place: Day One is premiering this weekend, how many tickets will it claim?
