Moana 2 Rides the Wave to the Top of the Box Office | Weekend of November 29th, 2024
Moana 2 opened with a splash, claiming 53% of all ticket sales and earning over $139M. Audiences quite liked the sequel as it scored a 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Taking our second spot was the critic and audience favorite, Wicked: Part One. In its second weekend, the musical adaptation captured 28% of tickets and earned over $81M, scoring an 89% critic and 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
In third, we had another sequel, Gladiator II, which also performed well in its second weekend, earning over $31M.
The top three movies earned over $252M and accounted for 91% of all tickets sold. This was a very strong weekend for the box office to say the least.
