Moana 2 & Wicked Claim Majority of All Ticket Sales | Weekend of December 13th, 2024

While Moana 2 and Wicked continue to lead the box office (combining to earn the majority of ticket sales), there's more to the story. Beyond the top 4 films (Kraven and Gladiator II included), the rankings for ticket sales versus revenue tell an interesting story.

For instance, Interstellar (a re-release) drew a sizable audience but didn't generate as much revenue, likely due to its limited release in fewer theaters. Meanwhile, Red One, now free on Amazon Prime, still managed to bring in box office dollars and claim 5% of all ticket sales despite being readily available for streaming.

Several premieres this weekend, including Kraven, Lord of the Rings, and a White Christmas Fathom Event, contributed to the diversity of offerings.
