Ticket Sales Grow 118% as Dune: Part Two Rises to the Top of Our Ranker | Weekend of March 1st, 2024
Over the weekend of March 1st, the Dune sequel smashed the box office, earning $82.5M and claiming a whopping 65% of all ticket sales.
Highly anticipated movies do not always meet their expectations, but Dune rose to the occasion and drove an 118% growth in overall admissions compared to the weekend prior. The blockbuster is every bit as good as people hoped, scoring a 93% critic score and 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes which is no small feat.
Migration (in its eleventh week) overtook Wonka (in its twelfth week) in ticket sales for the first time in each of their impressive runs. The family-friendly titles continue to hang on to the top 10!
